it finally dawned on me that i should have some photos to blackmail ethan with when he's all grown up. wat better way to do that than to have naked pictures of him during his bath right!? muahahaha :D

pretty in pink

i know boys dont normally wear pink. but this tee happens to be one that my friend bought for ethan even b4 he was born - so i decided to try it out on him cos he was outgrowing his clothes so fast! to my surprise, this boy actually looks good in pink! haha :D perhaps its his long eyelashes n mesmerising eyes that did the trick?!? rest assured tho that i wont be buying him anymore pink clothes, cos his daddy certainly wouldn't approve ;)

anyway ethan now weighs 5.9kg and is really a (heavy) bundle of joy... he's talkative (coos a lot) and seems to show signs of being a glutton already - always sticking his tongue out whenever he sees us eating. let's see if he does really grow up to be a food connoisseur.

oh and he's been taking 140ml of milk these days. depending on his mood, he will sometimes savour every last drop of his milk, or he'll just leave some behind, perhaps planning to share it with jie jie (ie coco). who knows?

recently he's also discovered how delicious his hands can be and puts them in his mouth at every opportunity he gets (especially when the mittens come off). he sucks on them with such gusto u can actually hear the 'suckling' sounds!

we took him out for his first shopping trip to compass point just a few days ago. how much did he enjoy it? well he basically slept thro all the action :P so much for an exciting 1st time out huh. and the minute we stepped foot back into our home, he woke up n gave us a "oh ok.. here we are in the same old boring house again" look. hey buddy! it's not our fault u slept thro everything rite?!?

anyway his visa has been approved (took about 2 wks to process only) so we're gonna pick it up tmr!

2 more jabs!

ethan had his 1st 5-in-1 and pneumococcal jab on 16 nov. poor chap screamed his head off again! this time it was even more pitiful cos he took 1 jab on each thigh. i think he even suffered some post-vaccination trauma cos when we reached home tat day, he'd occasionally wake up in the middle of his sleep n wail real loud - with lots of tears too :( i suppose he can still remember the pain. but thk god that lasted only on the day of the vacc itself. cos the next day he was back to his normal happy self

oh and i did mention he can now smile at us when we play wif him? he is SOOOOOO cute! i guess its the moments like these that make all the suffering worthwhile :)

diapers everywhere

diapers are now our best friend... if i'm changing more than 10 diapers a day i think i shd at the very least be entitled to make tat claim right? anyway having gone thro at least 5 different brands, namely pampers, drypers, mammy poko, especially for babies (this is the toys r' us housebrand) and nepia, it's the last brand tat i really have to sing praises about! we just tested it out a couple of days ago and man!!! were we shocked by the quality of this diaper! it's soft, absorbent, roomy n even has wetness indicators! it is THE BEST ever n we even get it delivered free to our doorstep ;) i must say it beats pampers too. so fr now on, its nuthin but nepia.. it works out to be about 26cents per piece (in case u were wondering).

so anyway we've just sacked the maid (for reasons i shall not bother to delve into here) and the last 2 days hv been rather torturous for us cos not only do we have the baby to contend with, we've got coco (she needs to be fed rite) and all the laundry, dishes, etc.. to handle too! plus the fact that now ethan's older n spends more time awake during the day thereby needing us to accompany him (he cries for attn all the time when he's awake.. he CANNOT be alone). just crossing my fingers now that i'll be able to get a suitable replacemt maid soon b4 i turn into a panda ;)

yesterday ethan met his cousins (my brother's 2 girls) for the 1st time. guess they cant wait for him to grow up so they can all play together :)

pacifier update: he STILL DOESN'T KNOW how to suck on the pacifier!?! i swear we're all getting backaches and megamuscles in our arms simply cos we gotta bend over his cot to hold the pacifier in his mouth when he's drifting off to sleep...
