panda on the loose...

so his rashes were a one-off incident (i hope!) and i now have my "mr snow white" back :) the cough is still persistent though n i really hate to think that i might hv to bring him back to the PD next wk if it still doesnt clear...

and remember how i was happily gloating about the fact that my little boy can sleep thro the nite since he was 2 mths old? well.. that doesnt happen anymore! i hv no idea why but he keeps waking up at least once every nite now. notice i said "at least". last nite, he woke up twice - at 2am and then 4am! yes i look like a panda now (but i happen to think they look real cute ;) !)

hope this is just a passing phase...

was at the supermkt at lunch today and bought some fresh pears and peaches for him. yes.. u guessed it. ladies and gentlemen, i'm gonna attempt to prepare, for the VERY FIRST TIME, some home made food for him this wkend! wish me (loads of ) luck...

wat? again?

will the trials and tribulations of a new mother never end?!? just when i heaved a huge sigh of relief over the crapping episode, a new issue has now appeared! n i mean literally appeared... in the form of red nasty rashes all across his chest n back!

i had such a rude shock when i took off his top last nite (part of our daily sponge session before i put him to bed). angry n red rashes splashed across his otherwise snow-white skin. oh when i saw those rashes how my heart was wrought with pain!! anyway i had no idea if it was a heat rash or food allergy (but he hadnt had any new food in the last 48 hrs) so i decided to let him rest for the nite n check it out again this morning since he didnt appear to be in any discomfort n was still his active usual self. well it did clear up quite a bit this morning, so i think it's most likely a case of heat rash. i will have to go home this evening to monitor his condition again n if need be, will make a trip down to the dr's.. AGAIN.

just crossing my fingers that they'll go away on their own as mysteriously as they appeared :

he's done it!

the boy has finally crapped! i know.. it's perverted the way i'm obsessed with his poo. but i cant tell u how relieved i am to find out that he's finally got the s*** out of his system :) altho i wasnt there to personally witness the event, i heard it was a big one n smelled really funky (waddya expect - it's 4 days' worth of watever u know...)

anyway here's a vid of him taken just last evening. yes.. again him reading his fave book. but this time, he can do it on his own!

too much? too little?

there was a time when ethan would poo poo 3-4 times a day n i worried why he was goin so frequently. was it cos he wasnt absorbing the stuff well?

now, he hasnt poo'd for the last 4 days and here i am worrying again!! is he having constipation? i'm beginning to realise that there will never be a day that i do not worry about the little guy (is this wat they mean by motherly love or am i just being paranoid??). anyway i fed him some papaya and i sure hope that does the trick, otherwise it's off we go to the PD again :P (bye bye $$$ ...)

and to make matters worse, he's having a cough too! brought him to the PD last fri and he's now taking medication. it's his first experience with medicines tho, n he actually LIKED the taste of the sweet syrupy cough mixture haha! but for the 1st time only cos subsequently he realised it's medicine n promptly spat it out each time i syringed it into his mouth.. tell me he is not a clever boy?

sure hope this cough n poo poo issue clears up soon...

just woke up

you can tell he's just woken up huh? somehow the face just looks a wee bit different :)

he does look skinnier in this photo doesnt he? but he still weighs the same! probably the angle makes all the difference . or maybe its cos he's wearing pants! a rare sight indeed... hee hee

that's how i feel without our beloved Pentax!

cos daddy's brought it along with him so that we dont have too many items to contend with when we travel next month (ethan's diaper bag, stroller and other paraphernalia will be enough to kill me!).

so what you're gonna notice in the next few postings are:

1. NO photos of ethan OR
2. BADLY taken photos of ethan (courtesy of my SE k750 mobile phone)

just bear with us till next mth when we get reunited with our DSLR ok? i promise i'll make up for it then

anyway, ethan's gonna start his first porridge meal today - a medley of brown rice, red bean n barley slow-cooked to perfection with TLC by "nai nai" and "ye ye". i'll just have to wait till i get home tonite to find out how he took to it. but i already have a strange suspicion that the greedy little boy will slurrrrrrrp it all up ;D

we attended my friend's daughter's 1 yr old birthday yesterday. found out her daughter and ethan are of the same weight! so either my boy is seriously fat or his 'girlfriend' is future supermodel material ...

so with daddy in australia now, ethan gets to sleep on the bed with mommy! but not the entire nite of course cos we wdnt want to get him into a bad habit n end up with him insisting on sleeping on our bed when he's older ;)

so its a king sized bed for our little king!

6 mth old gift...

yes this post is a day late, but happy 6 mth old (yesterday), ethan!

how did mommy n daddy reward you on this special day of yours? why of course it has to be in a very special way right? n we couldnt think of anything more special than bringing him for his flu jab!! haha yes... another needle poke in his thunder thighs. but i swear this boy is getting more n more comfortable with his jabs cos he didnt cry as loudly as the last round (which was only last wk). he only cried when the needle was inserted and promptly stopped crying when it was removed :) he has learned!

anyway daddy's leaving for melbourne tonite. mommy n ethan sure will miss him but its only for a mth. be strong daddy! we'll talk to u everyday over the phone and you can still see ethan's pics everyday here cos mommy will be updating this blog diligently!

the little boy seems to loooooove reading. whenever he cries, all we have to do is whip out his tiny love book n he'll immediately stop crying! looks like squeaky bunny is set to start collecting cobwebs :P

by the way, we started him on purees - the bottled kind cos i'm kinda busy these days to prep home made stuff for him. and he hates it! today he had peach puree n i wondered y he didnt like it till i tasted it myself. ugh! its sour! now i'm even more determined to puree fresh peaches myself... and carrots, pears, apples, etc. now let's hope my body is as willing as my mind ;)

cry baby

ethan was due for his 6-in-1 and final pneumo-
coccal shot today. i was crossing my fingers n praying real hard that he'd be 1 of those tough babies that wouldnt even flinch at the injection. hah! yah mommy can just dream on... the poor boy screamed his head off and even had tears streaming down his face to complete the entire "act". my poor baby... life can be so cruel sometimes huh :(

well thk goodness it's all over and the little boy is sleeping soundly now...

a new toy!

since ethan came into our lives, it's been ethan this and ethan that... whatever we buy or do, it's all somehow connected to him. so what's this new toy, u say? well, mommy n daddy bought a new prime lens today! yes its OUR toy. a 40mm F2.8 pentax DA LIMITED lens (obviously that doesnt mean a thing to me but daddy gets all excited just watchin me type out these specs...)

so now we gotta ask ourselves... why did we buy the 'toy'? certainly not cos we wanted to indulge ourselves, but cos we wanna take more 'stylo' shots of ethan! so u see? the dots connect back to him again :)

a new perspective

ethan can finally sit ala froggy-style :) still a little wobbly, but getting better everyday! he can now "frog sit" for about 10-15 min and he's definitely enjoying this new found 'freedom'!

ps: today we tested out an L size diaper on him. guess wat? it fits!
