how do u ever stay angry when this is the face that greets u every morning?!?

despite all the tantrums, waking up in the middle of the nite (sometimes up to 3 times!), whining, screaming, refusing to eat his broccoli, etc... all is forgiven when he flashes his (toothless) megawatt smile :)

Dinner at Dragon Phoenix

it was ethan's "san1 shu's1" birthday last fri so we decided to go for authentic cantonese cuisine at Dragon Phoenix (did you know they moved to liang court? i didnt :P).

it was a rather pleasant experience cos he was in a good mood thro out the dinner (except for maybe 15 min when he was little cranky and wanted to zzz). but generally, i think it all went pretty well :) the only thing i'm looking fwd to now is being able to put him in a high chair when we dine out. that would make things sooooo much easier cos then we dont have to keep 'passing the parcel' (ethan does NOT like to sit in his stroller by himself)

here's wat took place over the long wkend when i was bored to tears with nothing to do at home...

ethan: "look wat mommy has done to me!?!"

me: "hold still darling... it'll take only a sec."

ethan: "DADDDYYYYYYY!!!! HELP!"

me: "aiyah dont like that lah.. stay still and stop pouting!"

my maiden voyage

i did something unthinkable yesterday... i ventured out with my son. ALONE. but i'm proud to say it went pretty well! :D

i took him to compasspoint cos i'd arranged to meet a fren for lunch (i think i'm officially running out of time to meet everyone for farewell lunches/dinners so i figured i'd better squeeze in as many as i can at every opportunity i can get). so i popped the little guy into my ergo, strapped on the diaper bag and hopped into a cab (thk goodness it came by quite quickly else the 2 of us would hv melted in that crazy hot weather).

i reached delifrance at 11am and found myself a nice booth to settle into. ethan had just had his peach puree (home made!!!) around 10am so i guessed next on the menu for him would be a nice bottle of warm milk. managed to get the nice waitres to fill up my metal container (yes i remembered to bring it along!) with hot water so i could warm his bottle and try to feed him quickly before my fren arrived. and that all went according to plan cos by the time my fren appeared, ethan was already done with his milk and busying himself by smacking his hands on the table and making loud thumping noises (obviously my fren had no trouble locating us :P).

he actually fell asleep towards the end of our lunch tho... the amazing thing is that he did it without much whining! i popped the pacifier into his mouth n he was asleep in 5 min flat :) i even managed to get a little bit of shopping done after lunch.

i think i now hv the confidence to venture somewhere a little further the next time ;)

ps: to all his concerned 'fans', ethan's finally recovered from his cough

midnite party

ethan decided to hv his own little party at 3am this morning. chattering away in his own cot till about 4.30am when he could take no more and looked to me for some comfort feeding. being the light sleeper that i am, i too 'partied' with him till he fell asleep! i cant help thinking this is cos i put him to bed a little earlier than usual last nite, at 9.30pm instead of his usual 11pm. that's the 1st and last time i'm gonna do that. stupid me... thinking i could get more rest if i got him to sleep earlier. guess i deserved it!

i seriously wonder how some mommies actually get their kids to sleep fr 7pm right thro to the next morning. what's the secret?!?!
