almost one....
in just another 3 wks, this little boy will be 1 yr old. i cant believe how time flies! it feels like just yesterday when i was planning for his 1st mth party, n here i am now planning his 1 yr old celebrations!
anyway ethan's developed quite quickly over the last few wks:
- he can walk really fast with the aid of that scooter (almost running in fact and we have to chase after him!)
- extremely talkative n keeps yapping non-stop in his baby language
- can get off the scooter on his own
- stands unsupported for about 10 sec
- able to stack building blocks on top of one another
- can throw his toy balls (1 basketball, 1 soccer ball n 1 rugby ball)
- loves to eat what we are eating
one thing tho which he still hasnt improved on is his ability to sleep thro the nite! so he's still waking up at least once every nite (like last nite he woke up at 3.30am). i wonder if after he celebrates his 1 yr old birthday by some miracle his body clock would adjust automatically n he'll stop waking up at nite!?! tat's my wish for his birthday ;)

oops...
gee.... sometime during lunch today i realised i totally forgot ethan turned 11 mths yesterday! sorry ethan! mommy just got so caught up with her new job that she forgot to wish u happy 11 mth old :P
anyway here's a vid of him enjoying himself tremendously and throwing all caution to the wind as he flings himself backwards - oblivious to whether anyone was behind to break his fall!

parents' dream
one of the most wonderful things which i appreciate about this country are the amazing parent rooms that they have in the shopping centres. the 1st time i stepped into one, i couldnt believe my eyes cos it looked like a hotel room! they're equipped with sofas, basins and even microwave ovens - i mean, you could actually have a picnic in there! it's such a stark contrast from where we came... when i even had to breastfeed ethan in the loo sometimes - sad isnt it :( and some of the shopping centres there claim to have diaper changing stations but it's located in the ladies' toilet?!? what if daddy had brought the kid out shopping n needed to change the diaper?!?
anyway it's great moving around with babies/toddlers over here. the aisles at shopping centres are wide, they have specially designated lots in the carpark for families with prams (not all places though) and they even provide high chairs in the food courts!
the parent's room that u see in this photo isnt exactly the nicest i've come across, but it's the one where i remembered to take my phone out to snap photos of ;)
so i'll be starting work tomorrow... after a 4 mth break. sigh.. i'm gonna miss ethan after spending so much time with him the last few mths. guess it'll just have to take some time to readjust again to our new schedules :P

to the barber!
here's ethan getting his long overdue hair cut. but we're only trimming the sides (cos he keeps scratching his ears like a dog where the hair tickles!) cos we think he'll look gd with long hair :) perhaps when it's summer we'll cut it short if it gets too hot for him.
Fidgety Baby....
Tada! Our handsome baby with new haircut :)

never too young
while at the shopping centre yesterday, ethan made funny little noises each time we passed by one of those kiddy rides. so we decided to put him in 1 just for the fun of it :) (it costs $2 for a ride here!)
well he's still a little small for these machines, so he was like half sitting n half standing in this car. cute sight tho! and he seemed perfectly contented even tho it was just a stationary vehicle (we didnt think $2 was worth it :P)
a new walker!
went shopping yesteday n bot this cute little walker & rider (it can be turned into a little bike that he can sit on) for ethan. he's not very steady yet but we were pretty amazed that he could actually walk the entire length of our living room with the aid of this walker!
i can foresee my lawn mowing days will be over pretty soon... muahahaha :D
