last fri, we had our first dining experience out with ethan alone at a chinese restaurant (which was just a 5min walk from our place). it certainly was an interesting experience cos so far since we've moved to melbourne, we've always had the inlaws helping us whenever we went out for meals, shopping, etc...
ethan was generally well-behaved.. but that was only AFTER the nice lady owner of the restaurant brought over a basket of prawn crackers (you know, those orange type that they usually serve with roast chicken at chinese wedding dinners). he was having a fine time feeding himself with all the 'keropok' on the tray in front of him (not captured in this shot though). and THAT'S why i said he was well-behaved :) it was fun watching him stuff those crackers into his mouth with his tiny (and afterwards very oily!) hands.
anyway, sleep training is still in progress. he hasnt shown much imrovement since the last time i blogged. it just depends on his mood. certain days i can lie him down in his cot n he'll be such am angel and drift off to sleep on his own. other days, he'll be wailing his head off and i have to keep doing the 2, 4, 6, etc min- interval thing. it's tiring... but i'm still hoping it'll pay off at the end :/ what can i say, i'm an optimist ;)
spending the last wk with him has made me realise how dependent this boy is and how much he craves company. he'll not want to watch tv or play on his own - he'll always come lookin for me to do those activities with him. i'm glad #2 is coming along - this way they'll both be able to play together next time.
