heartbroken...

i am so feeling so down cos my precious little baby has got the chicken pox!!! i cant believe how bad the timing is. i was just about to bring him for his vaccination this coming week. sigh... why? when? who? aargh! and there's nothing i can do about it now.

i'm too sad to even take any photos of him. this is something i dont wanna remember. i just hope it goes away quickly :(

little angel.. NOT!

this is ethan's evil twin.. when he does not get what he wants! not such an angel afterall, is he? so far i've posted most of his 'angelic' photos only, hence this is a side of him u rarely see (and i hope i rarely see too!)

18 mths

i cant believe ethan's 18 mths old now. it seems like just yesterday i was bloggin my birth story here. it's a reminder of how quickly i'm getting old too... sigh

anyway, on a happier note, ethan is so much more fun to play with now. we can play catching with him, tickle him n he will laugh whole-heartedly without a care in the world! i just love his innocent laughter n it never fails to cheer me up.

at 18 mths, here's what he can do:

1. words he can say

• CAR (but of course!)
• papa
• mama
• nay nay (translated: mei mei)
• neh neh (translated: nai nai)
• ya ya (translated: ye ye)
• coo coo (sound that a bird makes)
• popopopo (sound that a motorcyle makes)
• mmmmmmm (sound of a car or cow)
• woo woo (dog barking)
• aaaaaaahhhh ie screaming (imitating an elephant)
  
• wow-wer (flower)

he's got a whole vocab of other words but we simply cannot make out what they are so... sorry! they're not gonna appear on my list

2. things he can do

• wave hello/bye bye
• 'sayang' (places his face next to yours)
  
• exercise (flails his arms about)
• dance (bends his knees and bounces on the spot)
• "da gong fu" ie chinese martial arts (raises his arms above his head, strains his whole body and goes "mmmmmmm")
• rearrange all the furniture in the house (whatever is light enough for him to move, that is)
  
• climb on the stool to get on the sofa
• take his towel fr the drawer when he tell him it's bath time
  

gee i just realised there are so many other things he can do, its practically mission impossible to list them all here! anyway i'll blog them down as and when i can remember.

it can be trying at at times when he just doesnt want to listen to instructions, but at other times he's just so endearing like when he tries to help with household chores or shares his food with ya. i guess it's a love-hate relationship :P

BUT i'm enjoyin every bit of it and would not trade this for anything in the world :D

4-wheels

like i said before, ethan is so fascinated by anything that has 4-wheels these days, we decided to get him another new vehicle - a cement mixer :) is it a natural tendency for boys to gravitate towards anything with wheels?

CAR!

the only word ethan can say clearly is "car". he's so confident of it that he shouts "CAR! CAR!" whenever he sees one (even those in magazines!). so what did we do? well, buy him a toy car of course!

well, it isnt really a car, but at this stage, anything with 4 wheels is a car to ethan...

his diet

it's weird how toddlers can eat almost nothing one day, and enough to feed a whole country the next! i guess what i read is true then.. when u average out their food intake for a week, it all balances out :)

anyway ethan's gonna be 18 mths next wk. what does that mean?

CHICKEN POX JAB!!!

i've yet to make an appointment with the nurse, but will be doing that for the week after. been a while since i heard this little guy scream and cry during vaccinations. wonder if he'll be any different now that he's much older?

well you'll just need to stay tuned to find out...

what do the above have in common?

they're all actions/sounds that ethan can 'perform on command' (sorry if this makes him sound like a circus animal :P) the video is kinda blur, but i guess u can still make out some of the sounds/actions?

it's amazing how quickly he picks up things these days. we really have to be careful about what we say and do... damn (oops!)
